Privacy
This notice describes what happens when you read Route 66 Post. The site is operated by Route 66 Post.
What the site itself collects
Route 66 Post is a static website: the pages you read are plain files. The site does not ask you to create an account, and it does not run comment forms or newsletter sign-ups.
As with any website, the web server records ordinary technical information when a page is requested — including your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string. These records exist to operate and secure the site.
The site may use analytics to understand which pages are read. Where analytics are in use, they are used to measure traffic in aggregate, not to build a profile of you personally.
Embedded video and documents — the important part
Many reports embed video hosted by other companies. When a page containing an embed loads, your browser contacts that company directly. That company can see your IP address, the page you are viewing, and may set its own cookies, exactly as if you had visited its website. This happens whether or not you press play.
The embed providers used on this site are:
- Rumble — the majority of embedded video
- YouTube (Google)
- BitChute
- Vimeo
- Dailymotion
- Spotify
- Scribd
Each of these companies has its own privacy policy, and Route 66 Post has no control over and no access to what they collect. If you would rather they did not see you, a browser extension that blocks third-party frames will prevent the embeds from loading.
Links to other sites
Articles link out to studies, filings, news reports and other sources. Route 66 Post is not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of any site it links to.
Cookies
The site does not set advertising cookies of its own. Embedded video providers may set cookies when their embeds load, as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Changes
This notice describes the site as it currently operates. If what the site does changes, this page changes with it.
