When you consider the power you are handing the government and how it can and will be used to control you in the future, digital IDs seem fantastic and easy at first. And of course it is totally voluntary, until it is not. And yes Digital ID’s are the HOLY GRAIL of governments that want to control EVERY aspect of your life.
Govt never gives back power that it holds. Income tax was only Temporary and yet over 100 years later, there it is still.
They can make you use that identity to perform even the most basic tasks once it is put into practice, as it has already been done in China. You are controlled and tracked when entering a facility, using the internet, making purchases, buying meals, traveling, and engaging in everyday tasks.
Using this information, a social profile—also referred to as China’s Social Credit System—will be created for you. The government will limit your activities if they don’t like your behavior, or if you have used too many carbon credits. Your attempt to book that trip will be rejected. They can simply turn off your money and ID and/or restrict what you spend it on or where you go. Digital ID’s and Central Bank currencies are the end of freedom as we know it. They are the line that must never be crossed.

Oh and look over here, the “voluntary” Digital Id is already MANDATORY for businesses filing taxes online. Well that didn’t take long!
