What qualities have George W. Bush, Thomas Jefferson, Barack Obama, and the other former American presidents in common? In addition to being the most coveted commander-in-chief, all but one of them seem to be cousins.

Twelve-year-old BridgeAnne d’Avignon of Salinas, California, made the amazing discovery. She built a groundbreaking family tree that linked 42 out of 43 U.S. presidents to a single, surprising, common ancestor: King John of England.

D’Avignon said to the radio station WFMY, “They all have the trait of wanting power.”
